WEST HYLER

 

West Hyler (Writer/Director) is the associate director on Jersey Boys and has put up companies of the show in Melbourne, Las Vegas, Chicago, London, New York, and Toronto. He has been directing for twenty years and worked at theaters including as Playwright's Horizons, Ars Nova, HERE Arts Center, The York Theater, Actors Theater of Louisville, The Guthrie Theater, Trinity Repertory Company, The Colony Theater in addition to working on Broadway with Jersey Boys and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He wrote The Chechnya Play which won a new play award from Actors Theater of Louisville in 2001 and was adapted into We Declare You a Terrorist which played at the Public Theater as part of SPF 2009. His screenplay Five Jakes and Tom was a finalist in the Screamfest competition in Los Angeles and was turned into the short film "A Jake and A Tom" which premiered at the Hollywood International Family Film Festival and has been screened around the world. Upcoming works includes directing the Big Apple Circus for its 2012 season. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree in directing from University of California at San Diego.
