Directing and Producing for Film

This class will cover everything you need to know about independent film making, from directing shorts to creating your own production company. Over the course of ten weeks, you will explore the role of producer, learning how to find and option material including your own ideas, projects pitched to you, and adaptations. You will learn what it means to be a smart producer, from protecting yourself legally to marketing your projects. Whether your focus is on independent projects or enticing commercial interest, you will acquire the tools and organizational knowledge necessary to see your own artistic projects to the finish line. You can expect to leave this class in command of your artistic future and prepared to turn your ideas into reality. Geared toward directors of all experience levels, this class is open to anyone interested in taking the leap to the big screen.
