Readings are an essential part of the play development process. We are proud to offer our PrimeTime Reading Series as a creative lab for emerging and established playwrights. PrimeTime has blossomed into one of the hottest tickets in town. Conveniently located in our in-house rehearsal studios, PrimeTime provides a home for writers to hear their new work read aloud. Friends of Primary Stages are invited to attend and be a part of a playwright’s creative process. Several plays have received productions at Primary Stages since participating in PrimeTime including, Michael Hollinger’s Opus, Lee Blessing’s A Body of Water and Tina Howe’s Chasing Manet.
Readings are free of charge.

Allen Waldman has just expanded his business on a handshake deal with an angel investor. But the devil is in the details and the deal quickly sours as Allen is drawn into the netherworld of going out of business.
G.O.B. was inspired by Herman Melville's The Confidence-Man. It was featured at last summer's PlayPenn new play festival.
Readings are held at Primary Stages Studios, 307 West 38th Street, Suite 1510 (between 8th and 9th Avenues)
