Using What You’ve Got—Directing Plays in Innovative Places:  This is a 10-week, hands-on directing lab designed to expand the imagination and shatter traditional notions of staging. Each week, class will be held in a specific, flexible, and possibly changeable location that will be anywhere but inside a theater. Past sites have ranged from Central Park to Lincoln Center, from DUMBO to the High Line. This diversity will empower you to reimagine your concepts of staging and create theater anywhere. By working with actors and staging pieces from William Shakespeare to Sarah Kane in unconventional locations, you will begin to discover the inherent theatricality in everything. This class culminates in a public presentation of new 10-minute plays directed by you in a site-specific location.

Sundays from 2:30pm – 5:30pm
