Q&A:
Nickname: Skunk.
Pre-Show Ritual: It depends on the show. Usually it involves a warm up physically and vocally, followed by the oxymoronic hydration cocktail of coffee and a bottle of water with EmergenC in it.
Book you are reading: The Steve Jobs biography by Walter Issacs, and Soccernomics by Simon Kuper.
Highlight of the year: Either London with my wife and 2 1/2 year old daughter, or being directed by my wife in Noises Off up at the Dorset Theater Festival.
Your perfect day: Walking around Hampstead Heath or Kensington Gardens with my family.
Favorite theater Urban Legend: Either the much-storied Pia Zadora production of Anne Frank when the beleaguered audience yells out to the Nazis, "THEY'RE IN THE ATTIC!" or, "I don't remember eating corn."
Title of Autobiography: A Skunk's Tale.
Favorite place in NYC: The Flatiron District. Or B&H Photo.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?: I'd like to meet photojournalist Robert Capa. He was kind of like Hemingway, Cartier Bresson, and George Clooney wrapped in one very cool package. Or maybe Steve Jobs.
Hidden talent: Sound design/photography.
Last show you saw and LOVED: Michael Sheen's Hamlet at the Young Vic. Fascinating take on the play, and Michael was amazing.
A guilty pleasure: Anything gummy, jelly, and tooth-rotting. And "Dancing With the Stars."
