This is a 2-day intensive workshop on starting a theater company taught by Primary Stages Founder and Executive Producer Casey Childs. Casey will walk you through the process of defining a mission, creating a budget, building a staff and board, committing to a space, establishing 501(c)3 status, and ultimately producing work in line with your mission. Casey will draw from the very fundamentals that he used to found Primary Stages 27 years ago, which can be applied to theater companies of any size. Geared toward artists of varying disciplines and experience, this workshop will reveal the essential components of not only starting a theater company, but ensuring its success.

Note: Students must come in with an idea of a hypothetical theater company to serve as the foundation for their work in the class.

This workshop has been postponed until further notice.
