CHERYL WIESENFELD (ASSOCIATE PRODUCER)

Cheryl’s career has been in the communication field as an editor, writer and producer. For the past 20+ years she has been a commercial theater producer on Broadway, off Broadway and regionally around the country and the world. She is the winner of numerous honors and awards including four Tony Awards. This is the 9th year Cheryl has been a part of The Quick Center for Performance Arts at Fairfield University as a producer/artist curating a program entitled “Theater that Changes Our World.” The program shines a light on issues in our society that need to be illuminated and examined closely with the hope and possibility for change. This year we showcased rehabilitation in prison by featuring the film - Sing Sing. Amerikin very much fits into this arena of ideas. Cheryl has always supported and believed in the power and importance of not for profit theater. She wants to thank Andrew Leynse who was a beacon of support and encouragement when she was starting out. His memory, passion and kindness still guides her today.
