JORDAN SEAVEY (PLAYWRIGHT)

Jordan Seavey (he/him/they/them) is the lone child of an MTA bus driver Republican and a professional clown Democrat. Their plays are the result of all the conflict, comedy, and queerness therein. Most recently, Seavey received a seven year residency with New Dramatists, cohort 2023-2030. Plays include THE SEVEN YEAR DISAPPEAR (featuring Cynthia Nixon, The New Group), STEPHEN MILLER OF SANTA MONICA (currently in development with director Stephen Brackett), HOMOS, OR EVERYONE IN AMERICA (OBIE Award for Michael Urie; New York Times Critic’s Pick; New York Magazine’s 10 Best Theater Events of 2016), WIGHT, NOVEMBER 4TH 2008, THE FUNNY PAIN, THE TRUTH WILL OUT, CHILDREN AT PLAY, 6969, and THIS IS A NEWSPAPER. Seavey co-founded theater company CollaborationTown, co-creating more than 15 new plays from 2003-2020. They’re a ‘Usual Suspect’ at NYTW since 2008, and an alum of The Public Theater’s Emerging Writers Group, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, and Primary Stages Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group. Next, according to Seavey, “Gonna make some movies!”
