Julie Benko became a Broadway sensation as Fanny Brice in the recent revival of Funny Girl. For her celebrated understudy-to-star turn, she was named the New York Times’ 2022 “Breakout Star for Theatre,” included in Variety’s 10 Broadway Stars to Watch, earned Theatre World’s Dorothy Loudon Award, and even got a shoutout on “The Simpsons”. She recently returned to Broadway as Emma Goldman in the Tony-winning revival of Ragtime at Lincoln Center, and has also appeared on the Great White Way in Harmony, Fiddler on the Roof, and Les Misérables. Favorite regional credits include Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Jane Eyre, Once, Rags, Our Town, and more. Alongside her stage work, Julie has built a thriving concert career in jazz and cabaret, performing at venues nationwide and releasing four studio albums with her pianist-husband, Jason Yeager – catch her live at Birdland on October 19th! She recently made her film debut in the indie feature “Caravan”, and is an emerging playwright whose first full-length play, Down the Line, was a semifinalist at the Eugene O’Neill Center.
